Checked in late on 7/5/24. Flight was delayed and as it was very late we went straight to the hotel to get some rest after a long day of travel. First impressions were good but the beds were like lying on concrete. Next morning I asked if something could be done as neither of us had slept. Result was they said they would put extra padding on the top.That sounded like the perfect solution. What they did do was put a second mattress protector on, which did not solve the problem. It was very thin and made no difference at all. After another night of less than 3 hours sleep each, we asked for help again. None was forthcoming. We were told that that is the way the beds are, and there was nothing else they could do. I don't want to spend my holiday complaining and we decided that we would use the duvets as extra padding, which was the only option we thought we had open to us. This is a problem this hotel is aware of, as it is mentioned repeatedly in reviews There are solutions, good quality mattress toppers for customers who might need a softer solution, would be an answer. I don't think it's unreasonable. Nor is it rocket science! It would appear that solving the problem is not important to the hotel. The pillows are pathetic, the acces to the shower means climbing into a bath that is much higher than normal, and is very awkward for older people (we are both in our 60's). However it was the least of our problems. No sleep for three nights equals pretty close to exhaustion. It seriously impacted on our enjoyment. The final point of disappointment was we requested a late checkout on 10th May as we had a late flight, and due to the fact that we were both dead on our feet, asked on the evening of the 9th for a late checkout. After a bit of pretend flicking of the keyboard keys, the very unhelpful receptionist told us the best she could do was 1pm. It was not really what we were looking for and declined. The morning receptionist however managed to accommodate us until 4pm!!!!She was the only helpful member of staff we ever encountered. Customer service is awful. Resting b*t*h seemed to be the default expression and rolling of the eyes as you approached a common reaction. The hotel is very poor in the facilities provided for over 600 euros for three nights. The pool area needs some attention in maintenance, loose tiles and rusty railings. Didn't have breakfast, so can't comment on that. In conclusion, I was too tired to enjoy my holiday. It's very expensive for very standard facilities. Most of the staff are unhelpful,surly, and not customer focussed. Only the housekeeping staff ever cracked a smile. I had been really looking forward to a short break with my sister in Nice, and ended up desperate to go home and sleep. Mercure, Notredame, you need to up your game!

Very pleasant stay in Privilege rooms. Reception staff very accommodating with pre-arrival requests which was much appreciated. Rooms comfortable and well equipped. Hotel excellent location, near tram stop, Nice Ville station and shopping area. Pool area small but ample for a short stay. Roof top bar nice, but service a little slow in the evening. City view rooms can be slightly loud at night with street noise. Would revisit.

The famed Promenade des Anglais is within a pleasant 25-minute walk or a shorter tram ride away. Externally, the hotel presents a modest facade; however, stepping into the lobby reveals a breathtaking display of contemporary design, adorned with an eclectic collection of art and furnishings. The staff's professional and warm welcome immediately signifies the quality of service to be expected throughout your stay. The hotel hides a serene garden courtyard on the first floor, offering a peaceful retreat. The rooftop boasts a café bar that remains open throughout the day and livens up by night, providing a panoramic view of Nice along with a tempting swimming pool. My accommodation was an upgraded privilege room with a terrace that offered stunning views of the Notre Dame Basilica. The room's modern amenities and design left a lasting impression. It featured a large, comfortable bed with a selection of pillows, versatile lighting, C-port charging points, a work desk, and ample wardrobe space. Additional luxuries included a minibar with free soft drinks and a Nespresso machine. The spacious balcony came equipped with sun loungers and a seating area, overlooking the city rooftops and the Basilica. The room was impeccably clean, with daily housekeeping, and boasted fast, reliable WiFi at 60 Mbps. The bathroom was notably luxurious, featuring a large walk-in shower with a substantial rain shower head. In conclusion, this hotel stands out for its exceptional service and special touches that enhance the overall experience, making any stay feel extraordinarily special.

We stayed in this hotel for 12 nights and enjoyed every day of it, very friendly and professional staff at the reception especially Mr Engin was very helpful with advices for local dine outs and attractions to visit. We had lovely room with the view to the garden and the bed was amazingly comfortable. Rooms were a bit small but good enough for us, the rooms were cleaned every single day and the breakfast was good too. Great choice of mini bar was very handy! Will definitely staying in this hotel in the future .
